My ghetto html Santa Barbara Wedding Photographers site

by Tim and Cheryl Halberg on March 16, 2007

Well, I’ve created a website that will hopefully garner some better search engine results for my website.

Being a wedding photographer in Santa Barbara means that in search engines such as google and yahoo you quickly dissappear into the crowd of photographers in searches.

Right now the html site I’ve created for my wedding photography is just a ghetto copy/splice of screen shots from my current flash based site.

Hopefully down the road I’ll end up with a better quality html site as a wedding photographer in santa barbara, but in the meantime, I really feel that my flash site is the way to go. The presentation is just so clean and fun!

I’d love to hear anyone’s thoughts!

Sailing in Santa Barbara!

by Cheryl on March 15, 2007

Tim and I had such a blast recently with our friends Dave and Daniel! They are such a rad couple, we always enjoy our time with them and were so excited when they asked us to go sailing with them on their boat. And of course Tim and I couldn’t resist bringing our cameras along with us. Check out some of the shots I got, and you can see Tim’s on his blog as well :)

There was something so exciting and fun about being out on the water and looking back and the Santa Barbara coast. Thanks Dave and Daniel!!! It was such a nice change, being a Santa Barbara children’s portrait photographer I don’t get a ton of chances to simply hang out and snap photos of my friends. :)

I have a new favorite picture

by Tim and Cheryl Halberg on March 14, 2007

My pastor asked me recently to take pictures of our church to put on the new website that is being built.

I was shooting pictures of the pre-schoolers during their worship, and this little boy was just so poised in prayer! Wow!!

I’ll try and share more when I get the pictures narrowed down more.

Wedding Photographers Splash Page…???

by Tim and Cheryl Halberg on March 13, 2007

Which to use? Any thoughts?

This will be the splash page for my wedding photographers website and for Cheryl’s children’s portrait photography website… being that we’re married and all now, we’re trying to integrate our businesses into one another.

Santa Barbara Hiking

by Tim and Cheryl Halberg on March 12, 2007

I am blessed to not only live in Santa Barbara, but also to be able to get out into the mountains and hike on a regular basis. (even more so now that I decided that in order to look like one of my my wedding photographer buddy’s I need to be hiking every day to lose weight.) I’ve decided that as a wedding photographer it is important to be physically fit.

So, with this in mind, I’ve been hitting the mountains/hills of Santa Barbara for the past week pushing myself hard. I’ve made it my goal to hike up to the top of Cold Springs Falls/Tangerine Falls in the Santa Barbara Front Country several times a week. I hiked this three times last week, and made it up today.

I encountered one snake today (a TINY little thing, just a bit bigger than a pencil in diameter, and maybe 8-10 inches long) and saw what I just assumed were dog tracks. (but, I was reading on a hiking forum today about a recent mountain lion siting on the same trail, so when I hike this trail tomorrow I’ll have to look a little more closely to see if maybe these were cougar tracks)

I hiked sans a t-shirt on the suggestion from my wife that I was getting to be a bit pale in color… YIKES!!
