Mill Valley California Wedding
We just arrived home from shooting Megan and Christo’s wedding in Northan California this past weekend… we took our time getting home, stopping off in Napa Valley and Big Sur, more on that to come!
I love being a second shooter for my husband Tim Halberg! :) I get to travel to super beautiful places with him, see his amazing talent at work and meet some wonderful people! But, my favorite part is that all the pressure of the day is off of me! When I shoot my children’s portrait sessions, it’s me alone and no one else to fall back on. So as I shoot with Tim I try to look for fun angles and detail shots for the bride and groom. Here are a few I grabbed for Megan and Christo:

Nominated for Blogger’s Choice Awards!!!
Alright… so it’s not that big of a deal…. but, I was nominated by my buddy today for the Blogger’s Choice Awards which is an awesome online awards site for the best blogs on the web. (yeah… I know… I’ve got NO chance at all of taking the bacon on this one… especially seeing as the awesome and spectacular Jessica Claire is leading the charge in votes for all photo blogs on the web…)
But, it’s always fun to get people to vote, and so if you feel like voting, there is a simple sign-up form on the Blogger’s Choice Awards Website, then you can simple click here and click on the vote button to cast a ballot for me.
Our little vacation (wine tasting and shooting)
Yep… we’re finally taking some vacation time!
We were photographing a wedding this weekend in Mill Valley at the Outdoor Art Club and then shooting engagement pictures in Livermore, so we decided to stretch out our trip to northern California by visiting Napa and doing a bit of wine tasting. We found a great room at the Napa Marriott and have been LOVING our time here!!! Amazing wine, good food, and sleeping in! That’s not a bad little vacation!
I’ve been shooting a bunch of pictures on my Holga… but since that camera shoots medium format film, I won’t be able to share those until we get home.
In the meantime, here’s a shot of the Culinary Institute of America Greystone Napa Campus. We stopped at the beautiful campus, but ended up trying a few other restaurants around the area. (Rutherford Grill serves an AMAZING center cut steak! Mouthwatering… over the top… I can’t say enough good things about it!)
Engagement Pictures in Livermore, CA
We’ve spent an awesome weekend in Northern California shooting a wedding and engagement pictures. We met up on Sunday with April and Don who’s wedding we will be photographing at Garre Winery in Livermore, CA later this year.
April pulled us all up a great big hill in the country-side of Livermore to shot some very epic pictures under beautiful skies!

And I can’t lie, my AMAZINGLY talented wedding photographer of a wife (yes, she also does children’s portraits) scored the best picture you see here!!! (I LOVE having such an awesome partner shooting all of my weddings with me!
Google listing spoof…
This one is weird… I get emails all the time where people try and trick me into typing my password into their “spoofed” website (they’ll fake a website like myspace.com or citibank.com) and host the look-alike site on their server, and collect your username/password…)
No biggy, I catch this all the time.
But, I’ve listed myself with google in their local listings so when people search for “Santa Barbara Wedding Photographer,” they are able to find my website listing.
It was really weird, because my wedding photography website always popped up first on the list, and then suddenly I noticed it wasn’t there anymore… so I did a little poking around, and someone had somehow changed my listing and said I was now based out of Santa Ynez in the middle of a road in the middle of no-where…
Alright, hopefully I’ve fixed that, but what a bummer, it takes google 4 weeks/1 month to update any changes…
