I’ve been soooo busy with the wedding season kicking into high gear for us here in Santa Barbara and with weddings all over the state. So… that means I’ve been doing a lot of shooting and very little blogging. I wish I had time to go through and do a solid post for each shoot, but right now mixing three engagement shoots into one blog post is gonna have to suffice.

We started out with a session for Scott and Sarah at Knapp’s Castle here in Santa Barbara:

Then we met up with Patrick and Nicole in Santa Monica and tooled around on the bluff there before heading to the beach in Malibu for some great sunset pictures:

And then we met up with our friends and neighbor’s Chris and Jen for an engagement session at a location I always forget about but absolutely love - Ellwood Beach/Mesa:

We’ve actually already photographed Scott and Sarah’s wedding this past weekend! Both Jen and Nicole at Bishop Diego High School have become Senior Reps for us. They decided to do their session together around downtown Santa Barbara and at Alice Keck park. It was great to work with these girls, here are my favorite images from their senior portrait session:

I (Cheryl) have been spending a lot of time shooting senior portrait sessions recently and I must say, I LOVE them! Every time I do one I have such a blast and get so inspired. Here are my favorite images from Katie’s senior session. We went up to the Historic Railroad Museum in Goleta, and then moved on to the Goleta pier after that.

Tim and I had a blast last week taking some pregnancy portraits for Sonia Hopkins (who has an awesome wedding coordinating business - XOXO Bride)

We both LOVE this shot that Tim took. Sonia told us she wanted something totally different for her pregnancy portraits. She suggested heading to downtown Ventura to use some grungy walls while contrasting that with her exposed tummy. We were stoked on this idea!

I also really love this shot, Tim has an amazing way of finding unique angles and getting awesome images out of them. Here he grabbed Sonia’s reflection through a nearby window.

We also captured some portraits of Sonia in her Ventura home.

Hahaha… I honestly have no clue how I found this video on youtube just now, but it’s kinda frightening that people might be trying to learn wedding photography from a youtube video…

Not gonna lie, I watched the whole thing through, and with about 45 seconds left I was totally floored by what the photographer said he’ll do with the bride and groom during ther ceremony!!! (don’t watch the whole thing, just let it load and then watch the last 45 seconds or a bit more… wow!!!
