I recently had the chance to photograph the Bernstein family at one of my favorite Santa Barbara locations – an obscure oak grove in Montecito. With every season it seams to take on new colors and form, the grass can be overgrown, dead and brown or luscious and green. No matter the time of year though, it is a beautiful location for family portraits and I always look forward to going there.
These girls were gorgeous and super fun to photograph. I am really excited for the upcoming family portrait season… just today I found some absolutely stunning Christmas cards and cannot wait to share them with you all!

In the midst of a ton of traveling for weddings all over California and across the United States this year, we took a week to relax with family and spent two days visiting/exploring San Francisco! Next to New York, I think San Francisco tops my list of cities I would LOVE to live in for 6 months just for the experience for the culture, the food, the weather and the people watching. (oh, and to take a couple of pictures too!)
This building has always drawn my eye when I’ve visited the city (it’ the Trans America building)

This is one of many photos I’ve taken using my iPhone recently. No joke, I think I’m going to start working on a book pretty soon for my iPhone pictures, I’ve been having a blast with it! I’m actually looking for a couple to bring me to their wedding to capture the whole thing using the iPhone exclusively to take pictures and video, and process all of the photos and video on the phone for final delivery. First person to take me up on it get’s the service for free!!!

Jeff and Nada’s wedding at the Rancho La Patera and Stow House was such a blast to be a part of. Jeff is the one responsible for Tim’s infamous hair and Nada styles mine. I loved so many things about their wedding… from Nada’s shoes, to her dress and especially how she had her veil sown in a bunch on top of her head… so chic. She was a really elegant bride and her and Jeff are adorable together.

It was truly an honor to photograph Reis and Daniella’s wedding in Encinitas. We often find ourselves being a part of other artists weddings and they are no exception with her wedding photography and his videography. The two met as childhood family friends, later fell in love as adults and enjoy traveling the world together going to places like Africa, Mexico and Bali.
As we got to know them I became really impressed with their compassionate and kind hearts, selfless concern for others and their love for each other. Qualities that really came through on their wedding day.

We had the chance to work with Nico Designs again!!!! (have we mentioned how much we love this guy?!) on a romantic wedding proposal story.
The story is of a boy asking the love of his life to marry him. He invites her to a secret place in the woodlands of Santa Barbara. She arrives in a classic Rolls-Royce and is lead down a rustic path where she finds hints and love notes guiding her closer and closer to the romantic setting he prepared for her… a table for two covered with dreamy white roses, candles, vases, moss, Champagne Perrier-Jouët, place settings, a horse, two lounge chairs and a sign that says “will you marry me?” Happily she says yes and after enjoying an evening together they walk arm in arm through a lantern lit dirt path.
(Why I didn’t think up all of this stuff when I proposed to Cheryl is beyond me… I wish I could go back in time and bring on Nico and Lindsey to make this happen!!!)
Nico out-did himself and we cannot sing his praises enough! Thank you for allowing us to photograph this beautiful story for you.

Big props to Fresco for the awesome desserts! And a huge thanks to Lindsey from Magnolia Event Design for her production help as well! It was a huge project and without everyone’s help it wouldn’t have been the same.
